The short answer
Clean's Gmail integration is opt-in and read-only. A member connects their own Google account, picks which leads Clean may read mail for, and Clean syncs only the threads to or from those leads into a per-lead inbox. It never sends or changes mail, deletes what it synced when you disconnect, and never uses Gmail data for ads or to train general AI models.
Your team already has a history with many of the leads it works: intro threads, replies, follow-ups. With Gmail connected, that history sits on the lead in Clean, next to the research, instead of in one person's inbox. Anyone in the workspace can see what was said, and when, before the next conversation.
Before connecting, you pick which leads Clean may read mail for: one saved lead list, or all leads in the workspace. Clean matches mail on each lead's work address and stores only those threads. Mail with anyone else is never fetched, and if you change the list, Clean reads threads only with the leads currently on it.
Clean asks Google for one permission: read-only Gmail access. It cannot send, reply, draft, label, archive, or delete mail, and it never asks for a permission that would let it. Synced messages and the Google token are encrypted in transit and at rest, and Gmail data stays private to the workspace that connected it.
Disconnecting Gmail deletes every email Clean synced from that mailbox, for everyone in the workspace, and drops Google access. The same happens if the member who connected it leaves the workspace, or if the workspace is deleted. Gmail data is never used for ads or to train general AI models.
Connecting takes a few minutes and is done by each member for their own mailbox. Clean shows what it will read, what it will never do, and what happens on disconnect before you reach Google's consent screen.
